DEVOLUTION IN THE UK - Assemblies and Parliament

The UK is a highly centralised state: power is focused in London where the UK Parliament resides.

However, the 3 Celtic nations over time have negotiated the transference of some powers from London to their own devolved national assembly (Wales, NI) or Parliament (Scotland: reflecting the much greater powers it has compared to the other 2).

Here's a simple guide from the BBC.

JAN 2021 - Scotland losing 2, Wales 8 MPs, NI keeps 18, Eng +10

Belfast Telegraph: the NI constituency boundaries will change. SF is already warning against any attempt to gerrymander to boost unionist prospects.

Dec 2020 - SNP MP suspended as Internal Market Bill passes. Indie.
